A word from the
Dealer Principal
|
Hello and welcome
to our March
e–news.
This month we celebrate our 40th birthday... 40 years of providing
motoring solutions that offer superior value, quality and service. I
don't want to go into too much detail here because it will take up too
much space but I have prepared a short letter that will give you some
more insight into our business and some of the major milestones of the
past 40 years. You can download the letter here.
Congratulations to Rob Pryde for recently winning the Ford 2010 Central
Region Technician of the Year Award, which he also won in 2009. A
fantastic achievement and a great result for our dealership which also
boasts the highest number of Master Technicians of any dealership in
South Australia. Which means more qualified staff to assist you with your
current car needs and to train our junior service technicians who will be
servicing you in the future. You can learn more about Rob Pryde and his
achievements below.
Also, worthy of a mention is the Adelaide Jeep Club which had one of
their monthly meetings recently in our Chrysler Jeep Dodge showrooms.
Adrian Brien Automotive has been sponsoring the Adelaide Jeep Club for
almost two years now. The Adelaide Jeep Club brings together owners of
Jeep 4WDs to experience the challenges of 4 wheel driving in a safe
manner and to provide fun regular social outings. Their membership ranges
from beginners to highly advanced with plenty of knowledge and experience
to share. You can learn more about the Adelaide Jeep Club below also.
A special welcome to our new subscribers who have recently taken delivery
of their cars; congratulations and enjoy your new purchase. And to our
regular readers – thank you!
Until next time, happy and safe motoring!

“DRIVING IS MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING NOW”
|
|
It's always
great to receive positive feedback from customers, especially when we
have helped them to overcome a major problem or frustration and
helped them to save some of their hard earned money in the process.
|
This
month's featured customer review was written by Omid from Sheidow
Park who talks about his dilemmas as a result of purchasing low
quality second hand cars:
“I've had my new
[Hyundai] i45 Premium for over a week now and it is amazing. I
regret not salary sacrificing a new car a long time ago and when I
tell friends about the deal, they can't believe it.
So if you use
your car for work and clock up a lot of kilometers, and have the
option to salary sacrifice; do it. I wasted so much money on crappy
second hand cars which cost me a fortune to run and maintain.
Driving is much more enjoyable and relaxing now.
|
|
The
[Adrian Brien Automotive] dealership is in a great location with
great services on–site and the staff are really helpful and
friendly. Whatever car you get make sure you get street legal tint
and the interior and body protection is a gem.
And to think,
people used to make fun of Hyundai's; I guess not anymore.”

SALARY SACRIFICING MAKES BUDGETING EASY
AND SAVES YOU
ON PERSONAL INCOME TAX
|
|
Q: WHAT IS SALARY SACRIFICING,
WHO IS IT
FOR AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
A lot of people have heard of salary sacrificing but don't actually
understand what it is and how it's different from standard car
financing.
Firstly, salary sacrificing is only available to people whose
employers offer a qualifying salary sacrifice scheme. The most
common are 'government workers' such as nurses, doctors, police,
firemen, local government office employees, teachers, etc.
It's worth considering because the loan payments are effectively
made from 'pre–tax' income, so there can be a substantial saving on
personal income tax, lowering the effective 'cost' of the car.
|
|
A fully maintained
novated lease will also include all running costs for the car in
one weekly payment debited from the applicant's pay, such as fuel,
insurance, servicing, etc. This makes budgeting easy.
Qualifying buyers can apply through the dealership utilising our
salary sacrifice facility with 'Dealerpac', one of the government appointed salary sacrifice
administrators. We make the process fast and easy, speeding up the
time it takes to get into a new car and taking care of all the
paperwork for you.
We are on hand to offer personal quotations and a fully detailed
consultation on how it works and how it can be of benefit to you,
based specifically on your personal circumstances, so call Andy or
Ron on 8374–5444 today to organise an obligation free consultation.

BUTTERMILK PANCAKES WITH GLAZED NECATRINES
|
|
Shrove
Tuesday may have passed, but it doesn't mean you can't enjoy these
amazing pancakes. We've got this truly delicious recipe for you to
try that should satisfy your whole household!
|
INGREDIENTS
Glazed
nectarines
6 white nectarines
150 gm (2/3 cup) caster sugar
1 orange, juice and finely grated rind only
2 tbsp Grand Marnier
For dusting: icing sugar
To serve: vanilla bean ice–cream or crème fraîche (optional)
Buttermilk
pancakes
150g (1 cup) self–raising flour
50g icing sugar
1 tbsp finely grated orange rind
2 eggs, separated
310ml (1¼ cups) buttermilk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
20g butter
|
|
METHOD
|
1
|
For
buttermilk pancakes, combine flour, icing sugar and orange rind
in a bowl. Place egg yolks and buttermilk in a jug and whisk
lightly to combine, then pour into flour mixture and whisk to
combine. In a separate bowl, whisk eggwhites until soft peaks form,
then fold through flour mixture and set aside.
|
|
2
|
Halve
nectarines and cut each half into 3 wedges. Combine ½ cup sugar,
orange juice and Grand Marnier in a large frying pan and stir
over medium–high heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil and
cook for 1–2 minutes or until syrupy, add nectarines and cook for
1–2 minutes on each side or until nectarines are glazed and just
soft. Remove nectarines from pan, add 2 tbsp water and stir to
combine, then set aside.
|
|
3
|
Heat
half the vegetable oil and butter in a separate frying pan over
medium heat. Add ¼ cupfuls of pancake mixture and cook in batches
for 2–3 minutes on each side or until golden. Repeat with
remaining oil, butter and mixture.
|
|
4
|
Combine
remaining sugar and orange rind in a small bowl. Serve pancakes
with glazed nectarines, drizzle with pan juices, scatter with
orange sugar and dust with icing sugar. Serve with ice–cream or
crème fraîche if desired.
