Pictured here is Renee Durden one of the Adtrans Automotive Group staff handing over the $10,000 check to Phil De Pinto and Steve Maras who both represent the Living Without Limits Foundation.
The Living Without Limits Foundation is a genuine not-for-profit organisation established in 2012 by four very passionate and enthusiastic friends, all committed to simply doing something positive to help children impaired in some capacity.
The Foundation works extremely hard to raise funds for very “specific” purposes – to fund critical research, support various children’s organisations, assist in developmental practices and purchase all-important equipment – as determined by the Foundation’s Board, which is very ‘hands on’.
Living Without Limits seeks to help all children to overcome challenges, be participatory, set and achieve their goals and maximise their potential. It works to break down barriers and restrictions and provide opportunities.
It is very much all geared to supporting organisations, projects and initiatives that will ultimately assist affected children and their families.
The Foundation is particularly committed to supporting initiatives relating to Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
David Holst Retires After 30 Years Of Service With The Adtrans Automotive Group
A P Eagers General Manager Operations, South Australia Car Divisions, Mr David Holst has announced his retirement effective December 2016.
In January 2016 David celebrated 30 years continuous service with the Adtrans Automotive Group (shortly after his 60th birthday). That is a remarkable personal achievement in the automotive industry and reflects David’s high levels of personal loyalty and energetic work commitment.
Following an outstanding professional AFL sporting career David started as a trainee sales person at Stillwell Ford in January 1986, David moved quickly through the sales and sales management ranks based on very high level sales performances to executive levels. David has held a number of Dealer Principal and Senior Management roles both within Adtrans and A P Eagers since his first DP appointment in 1989.
David’s career was built on record breaking sales and profit performances, outstanding staff development programs and integral leadership in the expansion and growth of the Adtrans Automotive Group. This included in recent years the successful acquisition and integration of Eblen Subaru as well as Main North and Unley Nissan and Renault into the A P Eagers Group and record profits in the SA Car Division.
As part of his role he has been intimately involved with the management of Adrian Brien Automotive regularly attending executive meetings and providing mentoring and support to key senior staff.
David has advised as follows:
“I was blessed to join a great company like Adtrans and work under the outstanding leadership of Graeme Bignell and Steve Officer. They were high level businessmen but more importantly outstanding people, leaders and mentors and I will be forever grateful to them. While I have many great memories of wonderful corporate results and fun and exciting times without doubt my fondest memories will be of the people I have worked with. Adtrans is and always has been a great company full of great people. The merger with A P E in 2010 was another positive that will ensure the success of the Adelaide car businesses for a long time to come.”
Outside of work David is widely known in South Australia and publicly recognised for his substantial charitable and philanthropic work. He sits on or chairs a number of community boards including the Intellectual Disability Association of SA (IDASA), Disability Speaks and Kardinya Community Housing. Under David’s leadership Adtrans will this year host its 30th highly successful and widely supported Adtrans Charity Golf Day. This charity day has raised and distributed over $1.5 million dollars for children’s charities since 1987, a record that both Adtrans and David should be extremely proud of. In addition David runs the highly successful AFL4Me program that in conjunction with the Adelaide Crows and Port Power AFL teams in 2016 hosted their 1,000th child with disabilities to attend an AFL Football match at Adelaide Oval. David’s charitable work reflects his family values and his contribution to the SA community should be recognised and applauded.
David will be engaged on a consultancy arrangement basis in 2017 & 2018 to provide coaching, training and mentoring support both in SA and nationally as and when required so his experience, knowledge and contacts will remain beneficial to our group.
On behalf of Adtrans Automotive and A P Eagers we would like to thank him for his enormous contribution over the last 30 years and wish him and his family well going forward.
