This month our featured staff member is Hamid Maponda who was recently awarded the employee of the month for May 2017 within the Adrian Brien Automotive Group. Hamid is one of our Car Cleaning Specialists responsible for ensuring that our Service Customer Vehicles are given a proper clean – inside and out. In his spare time he enjoys playing social soccer. Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: My wife is a customer of the Adrian Brien Automotive Service Department so I took the opportunity to submit my application and luckily I was accepted.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: The staff are very supportive, there is a great sense of teamwork and I receive lots of guidance when required.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: It’s a great place to work and everyone is very friendly so don’t be afraid to give it a shot. You have to also be willing to work hard because it can get very busy.

Q: What is your primary role and is there anything you are promoting?

A: I am a Car Cleaning Specialist so it’s my responsibility to make sure that each Service Customer’s Vehicle is properly cleaned – inside and out. Get your car serviced with us and I’ll make sure that it is nice and clean when you pick it up!

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I support a number of different charities that help sick people in hospital and kids that can’t afford to pay for their school tuition fees.

This month our featured staff member is Michael McGreehan who was recently awarded the employee of the month for April 2017 within the Adrian Brien Automotive Group. Michael is a Store Person responsible for what happens within our Parts Warehouse, he also enjoys playing basketball and at one point was part of a professional league. Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: In the past I have worked as a Sign Writer, Courier Driver and Pluming Supplier. I learnt about an opportunity with Adrian Brien Automotive through some friends and so decided to apply.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I like the people here, especially the co-workers.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: Make sure that you have a good work ethic and always put in 100%. That’s the best way to get where you want to get and achieve what you want to achieve.

Q: What is your primary role and is there anything you are promoting?

A: I was a Stock Control Assistant for three years but now work as a Store Person for the Parts Warehouse. I receive and invoice goods, am responsible for general upkeep and I pack orders. Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I like to support organisations that help people with Angel Man Syndrome.

Congratulations Louise Flett and Steve Clelland our employees of the month for March 2017. Both Louise and Steve are Warranty Administrators at Adrian Brien Automotive. Louise was a motorcycle stunt rider (2000-2003), is a qualified beautician and nail technician and likes to make wedding cakes. Steve likes to spend his spare time with his family including his two teenage boys. You can learn more about Louse and Steve below…

Louise Flett

Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: I started working with motorbikes when I was 19 years old because I really liked motorbikes. I had a job selling accessories and then one day I saw an advert for a receptionist working at a car dealership so I applied. I was the receptionist there but also acting as a service advisor. After that I spent some time as a sub-contractor for Hyundai and then was offered a job here at Adrian Brien Automotive so I accepted.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I like the team, the facilities and being able to contribute to the bottom line.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: Have a detailed resume, be willing to take on any job and educate yourself on the brand.

Q: What is your primary role and is there anything you are promoting?

A: I’m a Warranty Administrator for Hyundai and Kia so I assess warranty issues and process claims with the manufacturer. Hyundai and Kia both have great warranty programs so if you’re looking for a new car be sure to check out what they have to offer.

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I support the Teddy Love Club (pregnancy and infant loss).

Steve Clelland

Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: I did a Motor Maintenance Course when I was in high school so I have always been involved in the automotive industry.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I like the people and the location, is very convenient for me because I live nearby.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: I would say just do your work, turn up on time and enjoy yourself.

Q: What is your primary role and is there anything you are promoting?

A: I’m a Warranty Administrator so I process warranty claims and prior approvals. Jeep has just launched a new five year warranty for their vehicles which is very exciting.

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I support the Guide Dogs.

Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: I’ve had a passion for cars since childhood so decided to do some study via the Motor Trade Association who then got me in touch with Adrian Brien Automotive who became my host employer.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: Everyone helps each other, it’s always busy and we’ve always got something to do.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: Have a good attitude, don’t come into work looking scrappy, be well presented and be confident.

Q: What is your primary role and is there anything you are promoting?

A: I’m currently a second year apprentice so I’m responsible for servicing vehicles as well as cleaning them, opening the workshop and turning on the computers each day. We service a wide range of makes and models so give our Service Department a call on (08) 8374 5444 and we’ll look after you!

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I support the Royal Flying Doctors Association.

Congratulations to Adam Briggs from our Pre-Delivery Centre who was awarded the employee of the month for January 2017.

The Pre-Delivery Centre ensures that our vehicles are delivered to our customers on time and to a high standard of excellence.

In 2017 Adam will take on more senior roles in workshop coordination and become an even more integral part of the Pre-Delivery team at our Ferry Avenue, Melrose Park location.

Adam is also another technician at Adrian Brien Automotive who recently achieved ‘Master technician’ status and most certainly has plenty of expertise to share with his colleagues in our business.
