How To Get The Most Out Of Your Tyres
No part of your car is under more stress than the tyres, so what can we do to get the most out of our tyres?
All tyres have a bar moulded into the tread, at a depth of 1.6mm across the width, to indicate it’s worn to it’s limit of safety.
They can sometimes show an irregular wear pattern, with more wear on the shoulders of the tyre than across the tread itself and the wear rate varies depending on the type of car.
Small cars will wear tyres at a different rate to heavy cars; front-wheel-drive cars will wear front tyres faster than rear-wheel-drive cars and four-wheel-drives will wear all tyres at a much faster rate again.
