The Variety Santa Fun Run 2012
“Hi. My name is Billie and I can walk, I can run, I can play. I know some kids can’t, like my friend Daniel. He needs these things called, umm, splints. They cost lots of money. That’s why my family and I have registered for the Santa Fun Run on Sunday November 25. I don’t think I want to run, so we will probably just walk, it’s still fun. Both ways it doesn’t matter because we are raising money for splints so that other kids like Daniel can walk and play.”
The 2012 Santa Fun Run “cause” is the Variety Splints Program. This helps children to gain mobility, so for as little as $50 you can help a child walk, run or play. If 2,000 people take part in this year’s event and raise $50 each, we can raise a huge $100,000! So why not get 10 friends to donate and together we can reach our goal. It’s easy to register and set up your own fundraising page.
Registration includes a Santa suit or Santa hat for the little ones! The Santa Fun Run will commence at 9.30am on the Riverbank Lawns outside the Adelaide Convention Centre and entrants will run or walk the 4km track around the Torrens River. Entertainment for everyone will commence from 8.15am to get the Santas and onlookers in the festive spirit.
