$2.2M Redevelopment And The Most Modern Facility In SA

The Happy Valley Tennis Club has undergone a $2.2m redevelopment and now boasts the most modern facility in SA with 10 hardcourts and another 2 new courts next year. The facility features a great first floor viewing area and is disabled friendly. The club has a strong junior programme with coaching 6 days a week and competition on Saturdays. They also cater for senior competition on Saturday afternoons and social tennis on Monday/Tuesday nights and Wednesday mornings and a programme for the disabled on Sunday mornings.

The club runs several major tournaments including the annual City of Onkaparinga International Men’s Futures tournament, the Happy Valley Junior Classic, the December Age State Junior tournament and Club Championship tournament. They have also hosted the Les Tapp tournament and Southern District Men’s tournament.

The City of Onkaparinga International is their signature event and will be conducted from 9-16 September this year. It will feature the world’s best male players rated as high as 200 in the world. Past players include Peter Luczak, Marinko Matosevic and Matt Ebden who are all members of the Aust Davis Cup squad. The standard of tennis is fantastic. Admission is free and play commences around 9am in the first days of the tournament.

Congratulations Bianca And Troy On The Birth Of Your New Baby Boy Harlan!

This month’s featured staff member is Bianca Minter. Bianca (and her partner Troy) recently gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy Harlan. Harlan is the third child that Bianca and Troy have had together as husband and wife, the first being Lila (3.5 years old) and Tiger Lily (20 months). You can learn more about Bianca below…

Q: How did you get started in the automotive business?

A: I started in 2001 as a temp, spent some time as the receptionist in the new Ford showroom and then went on to become Andrew’s (the Dealer Principal’s) personal assistant. A few years ago I took some time off to look after the kids. Last year I came back and joined the admin team. Currently, I’m taking some more time off to care for my new baby Harlan.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I like the work and the people. It’s a close nit team and you make a lot of friends along the way. The job is also intellectually stimulating which is something that I don’t get much of looking after the kids.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: Yes, keep an open mind, be approachable and be willing to learn new things.

Q: What are you promoting at the moment?

A: I love the fact that all staff get a box of chocolates for their birthday and that sales staff make an effort to also call customers on their birthday. It’s great that as a business we take the time to do the little things to show people that we care about them and make them feel like they are part of the “family”.

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: I generally support the Children’s Oncology Ward which is a special unit for kids with cancer.
