Pink Hope is Australia’s first community designed to inspire women to be proactive and vigilant with their breast and ovarian health, while providing a safe haven for high risk women to connect.

Pink Hope is a registered charity with DGR status, established and founded by Krystal Barter in 2009 whilst recovering from her preventative double mastectomy.

Having experienced the isolation and lack of information for high risk families Krystal created Pink Hope for women and families like her’s, with the goal of providing unique and tangible resources.

Event Details

When: Saturday the 27th of July 2013, from 7pm to 12midnight.

Where: The Stamford Plaza Adelaide In The Boulevard Room.

Includes:

  • Canapes, beer, wine and soft drinks for two hours.
  • Guest speakers and lots of prizes to be won in a Raffle.
  • Silent Auction.

Ford To Cease It’s Manufacturing Operations In Australia

On Thursday the 23rd of May 2013 Ford Motor Company announced that it will cease manufacturing in Australia from October 2016.

Personally this is a very sad announcement and particularly for Australia that we have lost our ability and competitiveness on the world scene in another area of manufacturing. Also for the 1,200 employees that will need to find alternative employment over the next three and a half years – many who have been there for their whole working lives and up to 40 years.

On a more positive note however, Ford in Australia is still the hub of design and engineering for Ford in the Asia Pacific region and they will still employ local Australians in areas such as design, engineering, marketing, distribution, etc.

We at Adrian Brien Ford do not anticipate any material impact on our business given that the majority of our sales to you, our valued customers, are imported vehicles. Going forward Ford Motor Company have announced that they will seek to escalate the introduction of new products for Australian customers (refer to the Ford Media Release (PDF) for more details).

To quote the Ford President “Ford is transforming our business in Australia so that we can offer customers like you even more great new vehicles and an exceptional sales and service experience through your local Ford Dealer.”

This month’s featured staff member is Debbie McMahon who recently celebrated 20 years of service with the Adrian Brien Automotive group. Q: How did you get started in this business?

A: I used to work for Fairway Ford in Unley before it was taken over by Adrian Brien Ford in 1990. There was an opening here as a mail out clerk so I applied. I started here working part time and then I got offered a full time role in admin managing accounts so I accepted.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I live nearby so it’s very convenient for me to come to work every day. Also, there is a lot of variety in my job duties and tasks which I really enjoy.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: I think it’s important to be punctual, work hard and just be reliable but also it’s equally important to have a sense of humour because you have to be able to get along with others, both the people that you work with and the customers that you meet along the way.

Q: Tell us a bit more about your job, what do you do?

A: My primary role is to manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Otherwise I’m pretty much a “Jack of all trades” so I get involved in a lot of different parts of the business.

Q: Is there a charity or community group that you currently support?

A: The Cancer Council.

“I want to record my appreciation for the excellent assistance I received from Bill Guthrie.

My Fairmont Ghia was in for regular service on Tuesday 30th April when a number of necessary repairs were found totalling $2412.

Fortunately an Allianz Warranty Policy was arranged at time of purchase and when I advised Bill he immediately rang the company and then emailed photos of the relevant repairs to them.

Yesterday[Thursday] he received approval for the whole amount and the car is now booked in repairs on the 20th of May.

Please pass on my thanks to Bill for the very efficient and courteous manner in which he handled this matter.
