Exterior

The exterior of the next generation Santa Fe evokes the impression of irrepressible motion through its own design concept called “Storm Edge”, which captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. The futuristic and urban-style design, with its bold hexagonal front grille, is identifiably Hyundai.

Proximity Key With Push Button Start

The push button start with proximity smart key (Elite & Highlander), provides an added level of convenience by allowing you to enter and start the vehicle by simply pressing the entry button on the door and the start/stop button. You don’t even have to take the key out of your pocket or bag.

Electronic Park Brake

Elite and Highlander variants feature an Electronic Park Brake (EPB) which allows for effortless operation of the parking brake. Additionally, an ‘Auto Hold’ function allows you to completely rest at traffic lights or in heavy traffic, by automatically applying the park brake when the vehicle is stationary. By simply accelerating, the park brake automatically releases and you’re on your way.

Solar Control Glass With Privacy Tint

Elite and Highlander variants will feature solar control glass with a privacy tint applied from the B-pillar backwards. Designed to reduce and moderate cabin temperatures, it also shields your precious cargo from prying eyes.

Visual Appeal

The aesthetically pleasing supervision instrument cluster with its large TFT LCD colour centre display (Elite & Highlander) provides stunning clarity in all conditions, benefiting the driver with access to a wide array of vehicle information.

Multimedia System

The 4.3″ colour touch screen audio system on the Active variant incorporates 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. This system features cutting-edge functionality, including iPod & BluetoothTM connectivity (telephone hands-free and audio streaming), in-dash CD player, jukebox storage functionality, USB / Auxiliary inputs and MP3 playback.

Satellite Navigation

Elite & Highlander variants feature an 7″ touch screen satellite navigation system. Utilising Navteq maps, the system offers a comprehensive Point of Interest (POI) database including speed limits, school zones and safety camera locations.

Ensuring on time arrivals, SUNA live traffic updates provide the user with detailed information about traffic congestion and other road conditions, offering the driver an alternate route and allowing the driver to reach their destination without disruptions.

Premium Audio

The in car entertainment experience is further enhanced on Elite & Highlander variants with the inclusion of a premium audio system, incorporating door speakers, rear speakers, 2 tweeters, a centre speaker and a woofer all powered by an external amplifer – a sound system that will satisfy even the most discerning audio enthusiast.

Surprise & Delight Features

Now you can thoroughly protect your children and belongings without using messy, ugly window socks or inconvenient suction cup mounted blinds.

Performance

Engines

New Santa Fe is available with two powertrains – a new Theta-II 2.4 GDI and the outstanding R2.2 CRDi .

Transmissions

The new Santa Fe will be available exclusively with 6 speed transmissions. Designed and developed in house, the slick 6 speed manual transmission and optional 6 speed automatic transmission, maximise fuel economy and increase driving pleasure.

The 6 speed automatic transmission delivers smooth and seamless shifts, and with the inclusion of an electronic sequential manual mode, provides you with enhanced driving involvement.

Advanced Traction Cornering Control (ATCC)

ATCC ensures every Santa Fe sends drive to the wheels that need it most. Santa Fe’s intelligent All-Wheel Drive system cooperates with Hyundai’s state of the art Vehicle Stability Management System (VSM) to anticipate traction requirements and make pro-active adjustments to the torque delivery.

The ATCC control unit constantly analyses road speed, throttle input, steering angle and yaw rate to determine power delivery front to rear and left to right. This process, known as torque vectoring, is completely transparent and indiscernible, yet delivers enhanced agility, reduced understeer and improved vehicle stability – meaning new Santa Fe is even more fun to drive.

Ride & Handling

As a key component of any SUV’s safety and performance package, the suspension and steering of the all new Santa Fe have received an added boost, thanks to Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s extensive local tuning program.

Achieving a delicate balance of compliance and control, the result is an enjoyable drive, from the school run to open road touring, urban crawls to corrugated dirt roads, Santa Fe is well suited to Australia’s unique roads.

Motor-driven Power Steering & Flex Steer

Hyundai’s innovative Flex Steer system, standard on new Santa Fe, allows drivers to choose from three steering modes. Normal provides the optimal balance between steering effort and feedback. Comfort further increases steering assistance to allow for easy and effortless manoeuvring. Sport mode reduces steering assistance and transmits greater feedback for maximum driver involvement.

Safety

Active Safety

Each Santa Fe comes with a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) & Brake Assist System (BAS) – the unique integration of these stability systems with the Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS), form Hyundai’s advanced Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system.

The state-of-the-art VSM system helps maintain vehicle composure by not only utilising the stability systems as needed, but also by providing steering assistance for the driver. Acting as your personal driving instructor, VSM analyses the situation, determines the most appropriate action and then together with application of stability systems, provides steering intervention to help maintain or correct vehicle behaviour – less steering lock in an understeer situation or counter steer during an oversteer.

Passive Safety

All Santa Fe variants feature a full host of advanced passive safety features. 7 airbags are included as standard on all trims (driver and front passenger, driver’s knee, driver and front passenger side and full length curtains), as well as active anti-whiplash headrests for the driver and front passenger.

Safety Assist Technologies:

Rear Park Assist System

To assist while parking in tight spots and help avoid incidents in dimly lit areas or while positioning your trailer, all trim levels of Santa Fe feature a four head rear parking sensor system. In addition to an audible tone, the centre cluster shows which of the four sensors are active, further helping you to place your Santa Fe in the perfect position.

Rear View Camera

While Santa Fe’s exceptional active and passive safety systems help ensure your children and pets are safe when you’re travelling, the rear view camera helps keep them in sight at home in the driveway or in shopping centre car parks.

Standard on all Santa Fe variants, the rear camera is displayed on the 4.3″ colour touch screen on the Active variant and on the large 7″ satellite navigation touch screen on Elite & Highlander.

Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) & Downhill Brake Control (DBC)

After coming to a complete stop, HAC prevents Santa Fe from rolling backwards on inclines, allowing you a comfortable transition from the brake to the accelerator.

DBC gives you further peace of mind by optimising Santa Fe’s descent speed during more adventurous driving. By controlling the brakes for you, DBC allows you to keep your feet off the pedals and focus on steering your Santa Fe.

Maximum Safety Rating

With the wide range of safety features included as standard on all variants, the all new Santa Fe has been designed to achieve a 5 star ANCAP safety rating (Official ANCAP results will be published shortly).
